After 10 years opening restaurants and retail concepts with a group of partners, Susannah opened her first Short Term Rental (STR) in Lexington, KY in 2017. With that, Sanctuary was born! Her vision was to create beautiful and functional spaces for guests as they explored her hometown and favorite place on earth. Since then, the Sanctuary family has grown and the portfolio of homes has expanded to Indianapolis, Indiana and Naples, Florida. Susannah is now a full time Real Estate Investor, Short Term Rental Host, and Airbnb Ambassador. Drawing from her experiences with STR ownership, arbitrage, and management, she now helps hosts open their first unit.

Heather joined the team in 2018 and helped Sanctuary Lexington grow from 2 units to 16 by 2022 through Airbnb Management and Arbitrage. She is an expert at guest experiences and manages our Kentucky portfolio today. Heather has done it all from delivering flowers, to homemade treats, to even her own stand up mixer on request. She embodies Sanctuary hospitality day after day and ensures each home is sparkling clean and welcoming for each and every guest who enters our doors.

Jesse was a landlord and home builder for 20 years before meeting Susannah in 2020, at which point he jumped into the STR world headfirst. He began by opening high end, luxury homes in Indianapolis and is currently expanding our selection of vacation rentals in Naples, Florida. He is the King of Amenities and has stocked new homes with everything from lawn chairs to beach bags to electric bikes. Need a palm tree wrapped in string lights? He’s your guy. Anytime you experience one of our homes and think “A woman has done this.” You’re wrong–it was Jesse! His eye for interior design and penchant for Pottery Barn vibes shine through at each and every project where he takes the lead.
